1. Who We Are

CapRaise.lk is a business listing, capital-raising and advisory marketplace operating in Sri Lanka. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at connect@capraise.lk for any question about how your data is handled.

2. Information We Collect

Account details (name, email, phone), business information and documents submitted by Sellers (including registration certificates, statutory filings, and financial statements), buyer profile information, NDA signatures with IP addresses, and platform usage logs.

3. Information Collected Through Advertising and Enquiry Forms

We advertise on Meta platforms (Facebook and Instagram). If you respond to one of our advertisements using a lead form, we collect the information you enter into that form: your name, telephone number, business sector, the amount of capital you are seeking, and your annual turnover range.

We collect this for one purpose: so that a member of our team can contact you by telephone or WhatsApp to explain how CapRaise.lk works and discuss whether listing your business is appropriate for you. We will not use these details for any other purpose, we will not add you to unrelated marketing lists, and we will not sell or rent them to anyone.

You can ask us to delete your enquiry at any time by replying to our message or emailing connect@capraise.lk. We will delete it, and we will not contact you again.

Enquiry details submitted through a Meta lead form are held by Meta and made available to us through their advertising tools. Meta's handling of that data is governed by Meta's own privacy policy.

4. Cookies and Website Analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the site to function, such as keeping you signed in.

Where we run advertising, we may also use measurement tools provided by Meta that record whether a visit to our site followed one of our advertisements. These tools do not tell us who you are, and we do not use them to build profiles about individuals. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

5. How We Use Your Information

To operate the marketplace: verifying businesses, facilitating NDA-controlled access, preparing commissioned documents (IM, CIM, valuations), processing payments, responding to enquiries, and sending transactional notifications. We do not sell personal data to third parties.

6. Our Basis for Processing

We process your data because it is necessary to provide a service you have asked for, to meet our legal obligations, or because you have given us your consent. Where we rely on your consent — for example, when you submit an enquiry form asking us to call you — you may withdraw it at any time.

7. Confidential Business Documents

Documents uploaded to a listing's data room are access-controlled. Confidential documents are visible only to the owning Seller and CapRaise's review team. Documents marked visible are shared only with Buyers whose access the Seller has approved after NDA execution. All data-room access is logged.

8. Who We Share Data With

We share personal data only with: service providers who help us operate the platform (hosting, payment processing, and advertising platforms), on the terms described above; Buyers whose access a Seller has expressly approved after signing an NDA; and any authority where we are legally required to disclose. We do not sell personal data.

9. Data Held Outside Sri Lanka

Some of our service providers, including our advertising and hosting providers, store data on servers outside Sri Lanka. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to ensure your data remains protected to the standard described in this policy.

10. Retention

Identity and financial documents are retained for the duration of the listing plus the period required for legal compliance. Documents connected to rejected or expired listings are scheduled for deletion. Enquiry details collected through advertising forms are kept for up to twelve months from the date you submit them, and deleted sooner if you ask us to.

11. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you may object to us contacting you, by writing to connect@capraise.lk. We aim to respond within thirty days. Some requests may be subject to legal retention obligations, and we will tell you if that applies.

12. Security

Access to data is role-restricted and audited. NDA execution records include timestamp and IP address for enforceability.

13. Complaints

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your personal data, please contact us first at connect@capraise.lk so we can try to resolve it. You may also raise the matter with the Data Protection Authority of Sri Lanka.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our services change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Where a change materially affects how we use your data, we will take reasonable steps to tell you.
